This gives me chills. I’ve never seen anything that shows the reality of images girls face everyday like this.

There are a lot of comments about how this is hypocritical on a lot of levels, and in some cases I get what you all are saying, but whether this is just something to “make more money for dove” or not, it’s still a good ad with a great message. Forget the source for a minute and focus on the video. Dove isn’t shoving this in your face and saying “we support self esteem! Buy our products!” this alone is about self esteem. It’s a moving ad that has affected many people, that’s what this is about.

Most the time the only reason girls want to have plastic surgery at such a young age is either because there parents pressureise them because they think there little girls wont go far if there “ugly”. Or because these kids have been bullied or tormented because of the way they look or the beauty instrury gets to them. I mean honestly if the socity we lived in wasnt so shallow and alot of things werent just based on looks this sort of stuff wouldnt happen.

yeah whatever. People should try to be model citizens, models didn’t just burst out of womb all beautiful, it takes a lot of work to move the way they do. A landing strip was not a catwalk.

I smiled watching this video, but not because of it’s intended message.

This is honestly right on track, just because that’s how society defines beauty. Beauty to me is found internally rather than externally. Also, we’re all placed with some sort of beauty, there’s all types of beauty out there. This video over all was just fantastic- the visual, message, and audio. :P

it’s always fantastic when a concept fits the visual. this one fits like a jigsaw. in pre-prod for a short film with a similar concept – just like to say this ad has been an inspiration

I have an old diary that I wrote in when I was 10. There are just pages and pages about how I feel so ugly and flat chested in it… I’m 18 now and it makes me so angry to read it. Thank god I developed my own opinions and self esteem. I hate that children are being made to feel the same way I did. FUCK YOU SOCIETY! FUCK YOU!!
